Irish Flute: Davy Maguire

Davy Maguire, was born in Belfast, and has followed the historical school of the great flutists of Belfast: Gerry O'Donnell, Tara Bingham, Gary Hastings and Desi Wilkinson. He is now considered one of the most sharpening representative of that school.

He regularly teaches at the school of set dancing & Belfast Traditional Music Society.

He plays with Commonalty and Dealan Darth and played with the star of the popular music of Brittany, the flutist Jean Michel Veillon.

He plays with the band "All Set" along with Martin Dowling, even to accompany performances and traditional dances. Together with the musicians Jason O 'Rourke, Paul McSherry and Kevin Dorris has released a specific album for dances titled Go On Oiche Maidin.

Davy frequently teaches in workshops in Italy and Britain, recently in the Festival de Cornouaille Quimper and Amzer Nevez Interceltic Festival de Lorient.

He recorded several songs for the musical project Wooden Flute Obsession, along with the best flautits.

Davy teaches as well at San Benedetto FolkFest San Bendetto in Alpe (FC)
